Building the Boat

WE NEEDED A VESSEL THAT COULD GET US UP CLOSE & COULD CARRY KAYAKS

IT TOOK JUST OVER 9 MONTHS TO BUILD OUR VESSEL

Stage One: Brainstorming, searching for a hull, designing, pulling off the beach, lift out.

Stage Two:  Stripping, Fibre glassing, building, long hot sweaty days with a lot of support & much appreciated help from brother Mink

Stage Four:  Electrical wiring with Pako from Spain, solar panels, jacking & trailing, weather proofing & clear curtains with help from Rick, final fit out, stealing dads new out board! Fitting safety equipment,

Final Building & Launching Stage:  Fit out anchors, kayak racks, welding stainless cletes (thanks Captain Bucko) Loan of Waka trailer from Honee from Taimai Tours, Floating & MSA sea safety survey with Steve from Nortel.
Client research, kayak research & trials, testing, photographing, time trials, Brochures, Website with hunter from USA, business cards, signs, distribution, photo shoot…
